Discover Aktio–Vonitsa Through Its New Hiking Trails
The unspoiled landscapes surrounding Seagonia are becoming one of Western Greece’s most exciting destinations for hiking and nature exploration. A new network of 16 fully signposted hiking routes, extending over 121 kilometers, is being created throughout the Municipality of Aktio–Vonitsa, offering visitors the opportunity to discover hidden beaches, mountain paths, historic landmarks, traditional villages, and breathtaking viewpoints.
Designed to showcase the region’s extraordinary natural beauty and cultural heritage, the trails will invite visitors to experience the authentic side of Western Greece throughout every season of the year.
This ambitious project is funded through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0” and the European Union’s NextGenerationEU programme. Beyond promoting sustainable tourism, it is expected to strengthen the local economy and establish Aktio–Vonitsa as a premier destination for outdoor activities and adventure travel.
For us, however, this project is much more than a public initiative. The vision for creating a comprehensive hiking network in the area began many years ago and was passionately supported by our team. The routes were designed following the extensive study and expertise of renowned trail specialist Stefanos Psymenos, whose work revealed the remarkable hiking potential of the region. Through years of hospitality, local knowledge, logistical support, and unwavering commitment, we are proud to have contributed to transforming this vision into reality.
These trails will offer our guests a unique opportunity to explore the landscapes, history, and traditions that make this corner of Greece so special.
